But us normal folk don’t live in those grand mansions, so here are 20 ways to make your petite home feel less cramped and more like those you draw inspiration from.
Find your focal point
This could be a mirror, a piece of artwork, a textured wall or design. It could even be a coffee table, a piano – whatever you want to make a central focus for the entire room. Keep everything around it either smaller or subtle, and have it in either the centre or up high enough for it to draw the eye to it first.
