Despite our fear of sharks, the chances of getting attacked by a shark are 1 in 3 million in comparison with the 1 in 100 chance of getting hit by a car.
Sharks are often described as violent and aggressive beasts that are out to get mankind, but the fact that there has been a mere 60 fatal attacks between 2007 and 2016 betrays this idea.
However, sharks will always remain a deeply embedded fear in us, nobody wants to die by being devoured by one of these gigantic and terrifying creatures.

The Seychelles Aren't Always Paradise, 2011
A couple choose to spend their honeymoon in the Seychelles, however things took an unexpected turn for this unfortunate couple. While his wife was sunbathing, Ian Redmond went swimming and was attacked by a shark that bite his arm and took off his leg. The cries of his wife, alerted a tourist boat that was nearby, and they brought him back to the beach. A doctor tried to save him but Redmond died covered in his own blood on the beach.
