The Worst Shark Attacks Ever!

Despite our fear of sharks, the chances of getting attacked by a shark are 1 in 3 million in comparison with the 1 in 100 chance of getting hit by a car.

Sharks are often described as violent and aggressive beasts that are out to get mankind, but the fact that there has been a mere 60 fatal attacks between 2007 and 2016 betrays this idea.

However, sharks will always remain a deeply embedded fear in us, nobody wants to die by being devoured by one of these gigantic and terrifying creatures.

Here are the worst attacks of these monsters of the deep:

The Blood Bath of the USS Indianapolis, 1945

On the 25th of July 1945, the USS Indianapolis delivered an atomic bomb on the Island of Tinian and on the 30th of July they left in the direction of the Philippines to prepare an invasion of Japan.  When they were half way there a Japanese submarine spotted their ship and fired at their boat. Of the 1196 men on board, 300 sank with ship and 900 ended up in the sea several days later. Of all of the troops,  only 317 people were found by the emergency services, the rest were eaten by sharks, poisoned by the salt or drowned.
