Wash the dishes
Nothing says ‘dirty apartment’ like used plates and cutlery strewn all over the place. Ideally wash everything up, or lob it all into the dishwasher. If you don’t own a dishwasher (or even if you do and it’s already full) you could as a last resort stash dishes in the oven.
