We might all love making eggs in the morning for breakfast or baking delicious desserts, but few among us know how awesome and versatile those leftover eggshells are. Jam packed with nutrients and natural goodness, there’s actually a whole host of useful and quirky ways to make the most of those shells in your house and garden. 1. To The Compost!
Eggshells are packed with calcium and other trace minerals, which are great for your compost and garden. Throw them straight in or dry out and crush them into a fine powder.
8. DIY Chalk
Mix up 1 teaspoon each of flour, hot water and very finely ground eggshells in a bowl. Throw in a drop or two of food colouring if you like and then shape the chalk into sticks or funky shapes. Let the mix dry for a few days and the BOOM! Hopscotch to your heart’s content!
