1. Mean Girls (2004) & Mean Girls 2 (2011)
Easily one of the most iconic films after the turn of the millennium, Mean Girls brought us a brilliant cast including Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, as well as valuable lessons one should know when entering high school. Its sequel however… well hands up who saw it? Because we did, and it was terrible.
The original may not have been everyone’s cup of tea, however as a stand-alone film it was brilliant. But the format was an easy-to-replicate recipe for the follow ups, that spanned four more films over nine years. And they got worse as the years went on.20.
