Do You Remember These 22 Awesome Films and Their Not-So-Awesome Sequels?

We all love a good movie night, with popcorn, tortilla chips & dips, or maybe it’s wine and chocolates. One way or another, nothing beats a good night in catching the latest flicks. Remember how there were numerous awesome films that resonated with us over the years, films that became cult classics, and those that just straight-up ruled! But do you remember their sequels? Check out 22 of the greatest films of the past few decades...and their not so great sequels. Can you believe Home Alone spanned into five films??

1. Mean Girls (2004) & Mean Girls 2 (2011)

Easily one of the most iconic films after the turn of the millennium, Mean Girls brought us a brilliant cast including Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, as well as valuable lessons one should know when entering high school. Its sequel however… well hands up who saw it? Because we did, and it was terrible.

14. The Matrix (1999), The Matrix: Reloaded (2003), The Matrix: Revolutions (2003)

When The Matrix came out in 1999, we lost it, because it was so damn cool! It was the benchmark film for future sci-fi creations, and unsurprisingly won plenty of awards. In 2003 we were given both sequels, a rarity in itself, as they were filmed continuously (without a break), but were full of awful dialogue, rave-like scenes and had us cringing that bit too often. The third was also a very dissatisfying end to the trilogy.
