We all love a good movie night, with popcorn, tortilla chips & dips, or maybe it’s wine and chocolates. One way or another, nothing beats a good night in catching the latest flicks. Remember how there were numerous awesome films that resonated with us over the years, films that became cult classics, and those that just straight-up ruled! But do you remember their sequels? 1. Mean Girls (2004) & Mean Girls 2 (2011)
Easily one of the most iconic films after the turn of the millennium, Mean Girls brought us a brilliant cast including Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, as well as valuable lessons one should know when entering high school. Its sequel however… well hands up who saw it? Because we did, and it was terrible.
In the late 90s, we were introduced to the Egyptian story of The Mummy, starring the very suave Brendan Fraser. Likable, funny, witty and a good hero, the film was unrealistically enjoyable. The sequel was alright, with the return of the main characters, a mediocre plot, plenty of special effects and also Dwayne Johnson as The Scorpion King, (which had its own prequel series). And then in 2008 the third film was released, which was plain dumb fun albeit mimicking the format of its two predecessors.13.
