The two pop artists Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury worked on three demos together in the 1980s : State of Shock, Victory, There Must Be More to Life Than This all released on Freddie Mercury’s compilation album Queen Forever.
Michael Jackson, also known as the “King of Pop”, made history. Starting with his family band, the Jackson 5, and their hit I want You Back when he was just a kid, he then started a successful solo career. His album Thriller became the best-selling one of all time, and its video clip was the longest ever made at the time. After countless hits such as Beat It or Billie Jean, but also countless awards, the moonwalk inventor marked music and inspired a whole generation of musicians. After a few scandals regarding his change of physical appearance and his behavior in the 1990s, Michael Jackson died of a cardiac arrest in 2009, mourned by millions of fans worldwide.
Freddie Mercury was the lead vocalist of the famous british rock band Queen. His hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody or We Are The Champions made him an unmissable artist. Freddie Mercury’s voice and exuberant style were unique, he was a performer who also made music history. He died of AIDS in 1991 and was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. Freddie Mercury is still a great source of inspiration for a lot of artists.
